ABOUT
FATE INDUSTRIES is a stainless-steel design label based in Gifu, Japan.
Through a quiet and meticulous approach to craftsmanship, we create furniture, objects, and everyday products that reveal warmth, softness, and subtle traces of humanity within an otherwise industrial material. By combining precise fabrication with careful hand-finishing, each piece acquires a texture and presence that invite a more intimate relationship with stainless steel.
Alongside FATE INDUSTRIES, the art label THEO BY FATE explores the same material from a different perspective. While our products pursue refinement through craftsmanship, THEO BY FATE interprets traces of welding, heat discoloration, and unintended reactions that emerge during production as material expression. Through this approach, another dimension of the material’s character is brought to the surface.
Together, these two approaches offer different perspectives on the same material, revealing qualities that might otherwise remain unseen.
FATE INDUSTRIES was founded by Chiho Yasuda in Gifu, Japan. This practice continues as an ongoing exploration of material, form, and human perception. All production is carried out in-house at a Japanese workshop with over 50 years of experience in stainless steel fabrication.
THEO BY FATE is co-directed by Chiho and photographer TISCH, who acts as art director for the project.
